On August 6, 1945, a great tragedy happened. The Americans dropped the atomic bomb Little Boy on the city of Hiroshima. The Americans picked this day because clouds had been in the way before and wanted to have a clear view of the city. This was the first use of a nuclear weapon in warfare ever. At 8:15 am, the people of Hiroshima lives were changed. A bright light lit up the sky. No one recalls a sound but from miles away, the loud boom was heard. Many were killed by the detonation and others would feel fine then suddenly drop dead from the amount of radiation in the their systems.

The people who survived suffered from effects of radiation burns, flash burns trauma, lose of limbs, radiation sickness, and malnutrition. There was no exceptional medical attention to the victims. Many doctors were not able to work and people were mostly just bandaged up while bodies would pile up. The idea of bombing Hiroshima was to have less casualties if they were to invade during a ground level attack and to have World War ll come to an end. But these were people, who were normal and living everyday lives. They did not ask for an atomic bomb to drop over their heads and kill their friends or loved ones. Even after the initial attack, many years later people still suffered with health problems and psychological issues. Was America just in making the decision to attack Hiroshima like this? To shatter people's lives and cause problems for years to come? No, I don't believe they were right in doing so.
